Vehicle history

This vehicle was new to Midland Scottish in April 1979 and is one of several hundred similar buses bought by Midland over several decades. It subsequently ended up in the fleet of Strathtay Scottish which inherited the Perth, Crieff and Pitlochry depots of Midland Scottish in 1985.

In its early life with Strathtay it worked out of Crieff depot, which closed in 1991. Later in its life the bus was transferred to Strathtay’s associated company James Meffan of Kirriemuir where it saw use on school services for several years.

In preservation

Restoration work on this vehicle has been underway for a few years. The engine has been started and most paint has been stripped from the bodywork. Missing panels have been replaces, the front refurbish and glass replaced. Two of the front springs are broken, but the front axle is to be repaired using parts from scrapped ex-Central and Strathtay Leopard EGB70T.
